Legacy Air, LLC

Legacy Air LLC — Thryv Foundation

Who we are:
We service and install heating and cooling systems in residential and small commercial locations. We are located in a small town in eastern Kentucky. We currently have three owners and 1 part-time and 2 full-time employees.

How were we affected:
A big percentage of our spring business is generally from people spending their tax refunds on home improvement projects and repairs. With the pandemic people were holding onto their tax refunds due to high unemployment rates and the uncertain future. We operate on a very small amount of operating capital, so the lack of business hit us pretty hard. Just keeping the doors open was a huge challenge.

How did the Thryv Foundation Grant help your business:
This grant allowed us to be able to service our vehicles and do the needed repairs without using credit cards for those expenses. The grant also allowed for more working capital, so we didn't get behind on bills. Once bills get behind, it always has a snowball effect in the following months and is very difficult to catch up. We are grateful beyond words for The Thryv Foundation and the many other private foundations and funds that are reaching out to help small businesses around the country.

What are your future goals and what do you hope to achieve:
We are just a few months away from our 5th anniversary. Our goal is to keep growing our customer base as we strive to get through this COVID pandemic. It is still too early to determine just how much economic downturn we will experience in the months and years to come, but we are optimistic about the future. Our goal for the next three years is to have at least two more full-time employees and one or two more part-time employees. Even if that doesn't happen, we will still feel truly blessed to keep our current staff working regularly.
